Can You See What I See? by Elizabeth Prickett

Can You See What I See? by Elizabeth Prickett

Submitted to The Coup: Ode, Vol. 33 (2015)

I see the world through an x-ray
I see the inside
The substance
The muscle
The reason
Rose colored glass is no way to see the world.
But with my x-ray, you can see so much more.
So, those with broken windows, cracked frames, warped images and murky
perspectives,
now is the time to join the exchange.
Take the old pane and replace it with an x-ray
Look through it and
See the inside
The substance
The muscle
The reason
The soul under the skin
