When I Met the Rain by Madi Torrez

When I Met the Rain by Madi Torrez

Featured in The Coup: Lucid, Vol. 32 (2014)

I remember once trying to befriend the rain. He came and went, sometimes light and gentle, and sometimes, furious. At times like these, Rain would shout at me, roar at me from the clouds until he made Earth shudder. Whenever I asked Rain what could be that made him so furious, he never replied. He simply bellowed again, threw light down to the Earth as if to say he had grown tired of the darkness. Maybe that’s what always made Rain so angry. Wherever he went, carrying the heavy burden of his clouds, he never bothered to think he was blocking the Sun.
