Same Just a Different Day by Sydney McWilliam

Walking into the same school every day for a decade

Wearing the same uniform

Walking in one line silently from class to class

Seeing the same paper shirts and beige skirts

Tasting the same PB and J

Sitting among the same friends at lunch

I can count my friends on one hand

Rules are strict

Walking into a different school for the first time

Wearing different clothes that fit personalities

Walking shoved against walls walking from class to class

Seeing a new face everyday

Tasting different fast food restaurants

Sitting at the wheel of a car with my new friends at lunch

I can count my friends by the hundreds

Rules are lax
